The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active survived our own dunking test as part of our review, but one YouTube user decided to take things a little further recently, with some heavy-duty tests of his own. These included sending it hurtling into a puddle to test water-resistance, as well as stabbing and bludgeoning the rugged smartphone with wrenches, hammers and screwdrivers. Finally, the Active was put up against a Jeep Wrangler (alongside an unfortunate potato) to test its sturdiness under extreme pressure.
In the end, the phone only sustained screen damage after being repeatedly whacked with a large wrench -- something we try to avoid during our testing process here at AC. In any case, if you want to see all three punishing videos for yourself, we've got them embedded after the jump.
