Move Physical Hdd From Whs2011 Box To Windows 7 Box, Can't Access Files On Hdd....

i want to move an hdd from my whs 2011 box to my windows 7 box, doing so i couldn't access the drive.? is there a way to do this or do i need to reformat the drive on the windows 7 box, loosing any data on the drive?

there isn't any data on the hdd i need, am mostly asking because i would like to know if there's a way to do it and keep the data on the hdd.
